Rotary Cars in the Park

Beacon Park, Lichfield ~ Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2020

Rotary Cars in the Park is organised by the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad and the money raised from the event is distributed between local, national and international good causes. There is no charge for members of the public to attend but any donations into our collection buckets are greatly appreciated.

Chairman's Welcome

Dear Participant,

First of all let me thank everybody that participated in CITP 2019.  There was a wonderful turnout of cars and vehicles. We were lucky again with the weather and it was a very successful weekend enjoyed by many which has generated funds for worthy charitable causes.  The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad and is dependent on the support of a large number of people volunteering their time.  This includes Rotarians from other local Rotary Clubs in Lichfield, Tamworth and Bretby as well as members of Lichfield Police Cadets, Lichfield Round Table, The Stan Bowley Trust, Lichfield Round Table Football Club and Lichfield Hockey Club.   All the support is thoroughly appreciated and we are most grateful - without such assistance the event could not be held.  If you would like to volunteer please contact me via the contact us page.

The forthcoming event is over the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2020.  With this year's Saturday falling on the 4th July, American Independence Day, we welcome any American classic cars to join the show.   As in previous years, entertainment displays will be held in the Arena on both Saturday and Sunday.  There will be catering available on-site with a variety of food and beverage outlets.  We thank Strongs Plastics for donating the cost of the sound system.

For a number of years we have had the Midlands Air Ambulance as our chosen charity collecting over the weekend and we have asked them again to be our main charity for 2020 so please give generously to their collectors who will be around the site. We are very fortunate that we have support from the Lichfield Mercury and their associated newspapers, and from our manufacturers’ main dealership friends without whom there would be no show.

The charge for cars remains the same as last year with car club entries at £3 per car, payable in advance, which covers both days.  Please complete the form on the website and we will then send you a paypal request for payment. Once we have received your payment your space will be confirmed. If possible, we would like to have all club entries in by the 31st March please.  Passes will be issued to car clubs a couple of weeks prior to the event providing details of your club space in the park. In order to make this work quickly and effectively could all club members make sure they have their pass ready when they enter the park, each pass will give entry to one vehicle. For single entries the charge is £5 per car which covers both days and this will be collected upon entry - no need to book, just arrive on the day.

Please make sure that you are in the park by 11 am as no admittance can be given to the main field after that time.  Please note we will not accept the loud playing of music from car audio systems.

Camping and stall spaces can be requested using the relevant booking form via the website.

As in previous years, there is a charge of £5 for parking for visitors on both Saturday and Sunday.  For those joining us as visitors we are open from 10 am on Saturday and Sunday. There is no charge for admittance, only for parking. There will be a separate disabled parking area so please ask the marshals for directions if required. ALL BLUE BADGES MUST BE SHOWN.

Security will be present on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Once again we will have a large variety of stalls available over the weekend. There will be a Rotary stand at the event so if you are interested in discussing joining us please feel free to come and chat.

The Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad thanks all of our sponsors for their help and support. Please remember that everything raised goes to charity - we don’t charge for visitors so please give freely to the collectors on the park.
